We have worked to this statement since 1927, helping generations of people across the Thames Valley build their careers and business. Here are some of our milestones.

History of Bucks and Berks History of Bucks and Berks
Started as Bucks and Berks Domestic Agency. Working out of Wellington Street, Slough, supplying maids, cleaners and cooks to large country houses and estates in the area – reminiscent of Downton Abbey!!
1922
In 1947 Lorna Hamilton acquired the business, initially running it from her family front room in Farnham Road, Slough.

She focused on growing what she saw as an opportunity in the commercial market and built strong relationships with local businesses. (Cheque1955.jpg)
The company name changed to Bucks and Berks Commercial Bureau.

1959 Moved to an office on the Farnham Road

60's
By the swinging sixties and the mass uptake of typewriters we set about modernising the business by offering the additional option of temporary staff being supplied with a typewriter.
Most of the roles were advertised in the branch window or the local papers, such as the Slough Observer. Mostly secretarial and typist roles.
1977
In the 80’s the shoulder pads got bigger as did the company, and our current Managing Director, John Hamilton took over the reins from his parents along with his brother Peter.
80's
It was during this period that John and Peter expanded the company across the Thames Valley, opening new offices in key towns.
1986
We won the 1988 Slough Carnival, with our Chairman and our current MD on board the float!
1988
In the 90’s the Bucks and Berks brand changed to Bucks and Berks Recruitment
90's
In the 80’s the shoulder pads got bigger as did the company, and our current Managing Director, John Hamilton took over the reins from his parents along with his brother Peter.
1994
The Slough Office has a refurb and is re-opened by the glamourous Lorraine Kelly.
1997
Achieved Investors in People accreditation
1999
The millennium arrived, the computers kept running and we created a celebratory logo! We also opened our office in Windsor
2000
Awarded REC (Recruitment Employment Confederation) Audited status, meaning that we work to their code of professional practice.
2005
It was during this period that John and Peter expanded the company across the Thames Valley, opening new offices in key towns.
2007
Business Development team brought on board to focus on growing new business and providing a stronger marketing presence on line and with outdoor advertising at Maidenhead and Slough train stations.
2014
A third generation took over as Joanna Cooper (John Hamilton’s daughter) took over as MD of the company.
Moved our Wokingham team to central Bracknell Offices and brought our Maidenhead, Slough and Windsor team all under one roof in central Maidenhead.
